Hello Authors!

I have recently stepped into the realm of Young Adult (YA) Book Cover design for authors. My first, started with the trilogy by author Raine Thomas Daughters of Saraqael. From those three covers I have been getting contacted by YA authors from all over asking me my availability to do their covers next! It’s been a new and exciting world for me, and one I have really enjoyed so far. So…with that I created this page on my blog to inform potential authors of my policies, contract information and basic cost for cover art, as well as an updated schedule of what I’m currently working on. Cover Design Cost:  $400  (prices CAN vary based off of time and detail, but will be discussed on a individual client basis).

3 options available...but Downpayment of $200 is required to start work. Pay 1/2 Downpayment now of $100 (still reserves your spot, but I wont start work until I receive the remaining 1/2); Downpayment of $200, or you may just pay in Full $400. Paying in Full does not (at this time) bump your name up in the list, but does make you a priority.

Cost Includes: 1 final photoshop version of the book cover file at high quality printer ready high resolution; 1 eBook ready sized image for online bookstores such as Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, etc.; 1 medium sized file for your personal website and online promotion; communication time between author and designer; designer creation time; branding of author, book/book series.

*High quality images may need to be purchased in the process, and those costs may come as an extra charge for you, so that you may purchase the licensing rights, will be discussed prior to purchase.

** Back cover design available at an additional cost of $50 per book.

*** FULL Book cover (front, back and spine) design available for $500/book.

I do REQUIRE half of the total book design cost as a down payment and your copy of the contract signed before beginning work.

If you are interested in having me design a book cover for your next book, I will need the following information (as well as payment and Contract signed) sent to:  nimbiportland@gmail.com:

1. Please send me a small synopsis of your book. Including character names and physical descriptions.
2. Title of your book, including any other information: author name, subtitle, book version, series name, etc.
3. To help me grasp what style you like, please send me 5-10 examples of current covers you absolutely love.
4. Help me see who your characters and scenes are in your mind, visit websites such as iStockphoto or Shutterstock to send me links to images you see as the faces for your characters or your scene (you will see there the cost of the quality of photos, usually a letter sized (8.5″x11″) image is the largest you’ll need to ever go, and sometimes can get away with even smaller…these will be details we can figure out in communication).
5. A description of what you want your cover to be like, what do you envision?
6. Your timeline. When do you NEED to have the cover done by? Whats your book release date goal.
7. A signed copy of your contract DOWNLOAD Cover Contract HERE.

From all this information we can come up with a design together, that will be uniquely your own, will stand out in a book store online or on a shelf next to its competition.
